Dave Youngblood

Founder, Historian

Dave bought his first Norton, a 1972 Combat, from Sunset Motors (of Hogslayer fame) in Kenosha, Wisconsin. He's owned many other Nortons over the years, including a CNW Fastback. Dave has been involved with the INOA for years, serving at one time as the Historian. He's ridden to many rallies, including an epic group ride to the 1983 National in Flagstaff, AZ.

Mark Finkler

President

Mark got the motorcycle bug while in college, learning to ride on his roommate's Kawasaki 500 H2 two-stroke. After owning various Japanese bikes, Dave Youngblood turned him onto Nortons. Mark's limited mechanical skills increased exponentially after getting his 750 Commando! He's met many cool people while attending Norton events such as Rolling Thunder, Turn 6, Nortona, and INOA National Rallies.

Ken Dill

VICE-PRESIDENT

Ken began riding motorcycles in the early 1970s on a Triumph Tiger. He enjoys riding his 1975 850 Commando through the hills of Southwest Virginia. Ken also owns several other Brit bikes. He has attended several INOA and British in the Blue Ridge rallies. Ken's brother, Ralph, is also a member of the RVNO.

Tom Hudson

PARLIAMENTARIAN

Tom has graciously agreed to serve as the Keeper of Robert's Rules of Order. Since our club has no regular meetings and no rules, his salary is quite minimal, with no fringe benefits. Tom started out with a 250cc Moto Parilla which he sold in 1965 in order to purchase a car (1957 444 Volvo) for college at VPI. There, he picked up a Ducati 250 Scrambler. A fellow student let Tom ride his brand new Norton N15, the first big bike Tom rode solo. He currently has a Combat Roadster, an 850 Mk III Roadster and a 78 900SS Ducati.

Peter Youngblood

Peter could have helped Hank Snow write his immortal song, "I've Been Everywhere." He's been a long-distance motorcycle rider for many years, an Iron Butt man many times over. Peter has lost track of the number of different motorcycles he's owned, including a Norton Commando. He's accumulated so many tales (most of which are true) that we have chosen him to be our official Raconteur.

Ronnie Love

If it has pistons and a crankshaft, Ronnie likes it! As a master mechanic and antique car restorer, he thought he owned every type of tool. Upon purchasing an 850 Commando, he discovered the need for a new set of tools - Whitworth wrenches! Ronnie has been to 3 INOA Nationals: 2011 Norton Empire Rally in NY, 2013 Save a Horse Rally in WY, and the 2017 Norton Thunder Rally in VA.

Rob Loveless

Rob bought a new Commando in 1971 while stationed in Germany with the Army. He and his late wife, Barbara, road 2-up in Germany, and all over the eastern U.S. after they returned to the States. He and his riding buddy, Ed Todd, have ridden to countless Norton rallies, including riding cross country to the 2016 INOA Rally in California.

Gary Templeton

REPRESENTATIVE IN HEAVEN

Gary was a Norton owner and amateur road racer since the late 60's. He was an early member of our RVNO and an even longer member of NCNO. His blue Interstate, which he had owned for over 50 years, won the Statesman Class at the 2015 Carolina Rally in Asheville. A true gentleman, Gary departed our world in February, 2026. He left behind many friends in the Norton community. After Gary's passing, I asked his wife, Donna, what his favorite song would be. She selected "All Shook Up" by Elvis because he once told her that he fell in love with his Norton first and then met her 5 years later. Gary said the song fit both her and his Norton!

Ed has been riding Triumphs since 1968 and is a member of the Virginia British Motorcycle Club. He's helped his best friend, Rob Loveless, wrench on Rob's 71' Commando so he knows a thing or two about Nortons. He and Rob rode to the 1st NCNO Rolling Thunder Rally in 1983

Art Bone

Art has been very active in the Norton community for longer than most of us. He has served as President of the INOA and is the current Norton News Editor. He organized the Moto Classico de San Miguel de Allende chapter in which he serves as President for Life and the Minister of Truth. One of the good guys.

Jim has been riding motorcycles since high school. Jim, his brother Steve & Mark were roommates in the 70's. Mark is damned lucky to be alive, trying to keep up with Jim and Steve back then. Jim had a good time riding with Mark to the 2025 INOA Rally in Quincy, CA.

Steve Krupp

Steve sold Mark his first motorcycle, a 74' Kawasaki 900 Z1, in 1976. They road thousands of miles every year, once the snow melted in Ohio. Steve and Mark started attending Norton rallies in the late 1990's, tagging along with Dave Youngblood. Maggie & Barney welcomed them to Daytona Bike Week every year for many years. Steve, Mark and Peter Youngblood road cross country to the 2016 INOA Rally in Quincy, California. This was one of many long trips together.

Jeff has owned and wrenched on many brands of motorcycles over the years, from a Ducati Paso to a modern Indian Chief. He's owned 2 Nortons, including a Dunstall with a nice 2-into-1 header which he put together. Jeff was the Sales Manager for a large dealership in Roanoke for many years. He sold Mark his 2010 Kawasaki H2 supercharged bike.

John is the youngest of the Krupp brothers. You'll see him at many Norton events including Daytona Bike Week and Barber Motorsports Vintage Festivals. Jodi, his wife, frequently joins him.

Maggie Elmore & Barney Goodson

FLORIDA REPRESENTATIVES

Maggie and Barney are the reason we have so many fond memories of Norton events. Maggie coordinated the original Turn 6 at Daytona, and now the new Turn 6 (along with Norton Hill) at Barber Vintage Days. She arranges camping sites for us during Daytona Bike Week. She helps GANOA host the annual Nortona event in Flagler Beach, FL. Maggie tells Barney what work needs to be done, and he makes it happen.

Ralph Dill

Ralph is Ken's brother. He's owned and ridden classic British bikes since 1967. He bought his first Norton around 1985. Ralph currently owns 3 bikes, all of the 1974 vintage: Norton Commando, Triumph Trident, and a Triumph Bonnevlle which he purchased new.

Matt Rambow

Matt is the owner and chief mechanic at Colorado Norton Works. His attention to mechanical and cosmetic detail makes each of his CNW bikes a prized possession. He has done rebuilds on many Norton owners' bikes to keep them running sound.

Murray McLean

NEW ZEALAND REPRESENTATIVE

President of the New Zealand Norton Owners, Murray is a professional motorcycle mechanic with a special interest in British bikes. A very outgoing and personable fellow, Murray occasionally makes the long journey to attend INOA Rallies in the U.S. including the 2026 Rally in Buena Vista, VA. If you're ever in New Zealand, look him up - you'll have fun!

David is Mark's son who has watched his dad bring home Norton coffee mugs once or twice a year for many years! David rode a Yamaha FJ 1200 while Mark rode his 73' Commando to the 2008 Endless Mountain Rally in Wellsboro, PA. They also rode Yamaha FJR1300's to Alaska in 2009.

Nathan & Laura Kimble

Nathan is well known in the Norton world. He has ridden his Nortons (including his 64' Atlas) to many rallies around the country. He became President of the INOA in 2026. Nathan is a certified airplane mechanic, inspector and flight instructor. He has a collection of NOS Norton parts which he sells at Barber Vintage Days. Laura is always a delight to join us at various Norton events around the country. She's been known to serve as the DD on more than one occasion!

Keith Lindsey

Keith has ridden motorcycles forever. He has enjoyed restoring a Commando and an Atlas, both of which are show-worthy. He has the mechanical aptitude to fix just about anything - a nice trait if you own a Norton! Keith, his wife Marcia, and his Jack Russel Terrier "Ollie" have camped with us at Daytona many times.

Originally from England, Keith is a genuine Norton man. He's tough as nails, too, riding his 73' Commando to many Norton rallies around the country, frequently experiencing various mechanical maladies along the way! A good mechanic in his own right, he manages to soldier on! Keith has been known to pack a wee bit of Scotch along with his camping gear.

Ian Reddy

Ian is one of our two California members and a Norton man for many years. He's been active in organizing INOA National rallies, including the 2025 California rally and the 2013 Wyoming rally. He rode a bike from California to the 2025 Barber Vintage Festival where he camped with us at Norton Hill. Ian has passed on his passion for Nortons to his daughter, Erin.

After seeing a Norton Girl ad in the May 1972 issue of Cycle Guide, Burt spent every dime he had on a 1973 Dunstall Norton Roadster. In May 1973 that Norton was his entire net worth. Burt has owned and ridden Nortons ever since. Burt grew up in Columbia, Missouri. After college, he entered the Navy where he spent many years on ships in the middle of nowhere. Upon discharge, he spent 20 years as a Beltway Bandit. Burt now spends his time riding and wrenching on motorcycles. He also serves as the irreverent Humble Narrator and Recording Secretary of the NCNO, writing the award winning newsletter, The NCNO Flyer.

Bern has followed in his father's footsteps when it comes to motorcycles. After moving from Virginia to California, Bern now flies back to join his dad, Rob, for motorcycle trips to the Rolling Thunder rallies, hosted by NCNO. He's spent countless hours on spirited rides in the Blue Ridge Mountains with his good friend, Alan Todd. Two generations of the Lovelesses and Todds have ridden thousands of miles together.

Sean was not very interested in motorcycles until he began working with Todd Blevins in 2012. Two years later, he bought his first motorcycle - a Suzuki V-Strom DL 1000. Sean attended his first Norton rally in 2014 - the NCNO Rolling Thunder. He attended the Norton National in Buena Vista, VA in 2019. Recently, Sean has been scouting the ads for a Norton.

After learning to barely ride in Chicago, Steve's second bike was a '72 Combat 750, upon which he slightly improved his skills. He has owned other vintage Brit bikes including a Triumph T140, Royal Enfield Interceptor and a BSA. Steve currently owns a '70 750 Commando, '74 850 Commando, a 56/58 Dominator "bitsa" basket case, and a couple of modern bikes. He is an active member in NCNO and has attended many Rolling Thunder rallies. His favorite, by Tom Waits, has a line in it mentioning a "750 Norton bustin' down January's door."

Isaac Todd

Isaac is the son of Alan and grandson of Ed Todd. He has been riding dirt bikes most of his life. Since he's too young to obtain a motorcycle license, he rides on the back of his dad's motorcycle. Isaac also enjoys wakeboards in the summer and snow skiing in the winter.

Don has been a serious motorcyclist since age 13, receiving an Oklahoma motorcycle license at age 14! He's owned a Norton Commando since 2002, which he bought as a basket case. He has been an AHRMA motocross national champion once and a mid-Atlantic regional champion many times on his Bultaco's. Don has been President of NCNO and the Potomac Vintage Riders, as well as being active in classic motorcycle day organizations. He's completed the Iron Butt Saddle Sore 1000 and Bun Burner 1500 long distance rides. Don has thinned his herd to under 30 bikes (of all types), which he considers an accomplishment since "there is always the next one out there."

Following in his father's (Ed) footsteps, Todd has been riding motorcycles his whole life. He got his motorcycle license upon turning 16. Alan has attended many Norton gatherings. An alumni of Virginia Tech, Alan lives with his wife and 2 children in Rockville, VA.

Kevin has been on motorcycles ever since his mom let him try her CB100 at the tender age of 12. Since then, he has owned many different machines ranging from a Ural sidecar rig to a Buell Ulysses. Kevin's primary British love has been Triumph twins but lives a Norton-adjacent life since joining NCNO at his wife's insistence (no kidding!) His garage currently holds only vertical twins: '63 Norton Atlas (running, but...), '21 RE 650 (daily rider), '70 Triumph T100 (90% done.) Kevin is an active member in NCNO and thinks Norton folks are great!
